Applications now available for Disney College Program

Walt Disney Parks and Resorts are known worldwide for the magic that is brought to visitors through costumed cast members, themed rides and shops, and the classic, friendly ambiance.
Participants of the Disney College Program have the opportunity to advance strengths and interests, meet guests and cast members from around the country, and take part in unforgettable educational opportunities at either Walt Disney World in Florida or Disneyland in California.
“Joining the Disney team will benefit you as a student in so many ways. This is a unique program that allows participants to network with leaders, to take part in personal and career development classes, and build transferable skills such as problem-solving, team work, guest service and effective communication,” said Disney Internships and Programs Campus Representative Monica Atton.
Currently enrolled, full or part time, U.S. college students over 18-years-old who possess unrestricted work authorization are eligible to become part of the Disney team. First semester college freshman can also apply but must meet specific GPA and grade level requirements. Professional internships are also available for college graduates, including marketing and leadership programs.
While in the program, participants live in apartment complexes outside the Disney property. There are four different housing options, ranging from 1-4 bedrooms, each bedroom housing two people. Disney interns get paid for their work, but part of their pay goes directly to rent, while the rest is a direct deposit into one’s bank account. Free bus transportation is provided to and from work, Walmart, the other Disney theme parks, and the post office.
“My recommendation would be to bring your own car because it saves you a lot of hassle with the bus, and you can also go to the beach, Sea World, Universal, or any where else in Florida or California,” said Atton.
