Schoolcraft men’s hoops square off to 9-4 start

Jan. 15: Ocelots out duel Lumberjacks

Schoolcraft put a six-point halftime deficit behind them as they pulled away late to preserve the 91-79 victory.
The Ocelots went on a 19-5 run in the final five minutes of the game after Alpena help a two point lead.
Terrell Sewell led Schoolcraft in scoring with 22 points and Terrence Coles had 19.
The trio of Devonta Riley (13 points), Olushakin Cole (12), and Joshua Campbell (11) provided depth for the Ocelots offensively.
Alpena CC was led by Kharri Dailey and Travon Howard with 23 and 22 points respectively.
Jan. 8: Ocelots outgunned by OCC in high-scoring shootout
Oakland CC 115 Schoolcraft 94
The threesome of Terrence Coles, Terrell Sewell, and Joshua Campbell scored early and often accounting for three quarters of the Ocelot points in the Jan. 8 loss to Oakland Community College.
Oakland’s high-scoring Raiders opened the game on an 18-7 run in the first six minutes and never relinquished that lead. The Ocelots were within 14 at halftime, but Schoolcraft’s defense struggled giving up 61 second half points.
Sewell led the way with 28 points and Coles finished with 27. Campbell was the only other Ocelots in double figures with 16. Michael Harvey chipped in with six points.
Jan. 4: Schoolcraft sneaks by Delta

In the thrilling victory over Delta, Terrence Coles (12 points) broke a 67 all tie with one second remaining in the second half. Coles made the first of two free throws and missed the second, but grabbed the rebound as time expired.
A see-saw battle took place in which no team lead by more than ten points. Delta led by ten with four minutes remaining in the first half before Schoolcraft went on an 18-6 run to close the half.
Early in the second half, the teams battled and the score was within six points. Schoolcraft went on a quick 6-0 run with four minutes remaining in the game to boost their two point lead to eight making it their largest lead of the day.
Delta answered with a 13-5 run of their own to tie the game at 67 before Coles’ free throw.
Terrell Sewell led the way for the Ocelots with 30 points. Devanta Riley and Olushakin Cole chipped in with seven points each.
