A Winter Welcome Back

It’s the time of the year again when we welcome the beginning of not only a new semester, but the winter season as well. That means cooler temperatures, nasty roads and higher levels of frustration and canceled classes. As such, the staff at the Connection would like to remind students to take advantage of the resources Schoolcraft provides to the campus community such as Rave Alerts. Students are encouraged to sign up for Rave Alerts to receive text messages, emails and phone calls regarding canceled classes or important information pertaining to campus. Additionally, we want to remind you to account for extra travel time, to dress warmly and be prepared for the cooler weather as it approaches.
Furthermore, as the semester continues so does the increased levels of anxiety and the common struggles of studying. The Learning Center provides resources which connect students to free subject specific and writing tutors. We encourage students to seek help in areas where they could use a little extra assistance.
Moreover, a new semester means opportunity for new experiences and there is no better time to explore your options for campus involvement that attending the annual Winter Daze Bash. Winter Daze will be taking place on Jan. 22 and 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Lower Waterman of the VisTaTech Center. This is a fantastic opportunity for fellowship and for students to connect with various clubs on campus and local businesses. Becoming involved can help you to make the best of your time here at Schoolcraft and enhance your college experience. We wish you the best of luck as you proceed through the winter semester!
