The Bradner Library is well-equipped to the task of helping students to find their place, however far away they may be.
With reference librarians to help students and faculty alike with library research, they can provide access to the key academic resources needed, including books, eBooks, reference materials and journal articles from a large and diverse selection of academic databases. Schoolcraft students, faculty, and staff can also access library databases remotely through Blackboard by clicking the ‘Organizations’ tab at bb.schoolcraft.edu.
Professors demand primary resources for papers and the library’s databases are the surest places to find them.
“It has been an interesting experience, so far,” said Reference Librarian at the Bradner Library, Wayne Pricer. “At times working remotely has been a little challenging. I miss in person, one-on-one interactions with students.”
Pricer also is looking forward to getting back to campus, with the hope that the pandemic ends soon. If students need something during the librarians’ off-hours, library databases remain online 24/7. These databases can be accessed at schoolcraft.edu/library/resources/magazines-and-journals. Just click on the off-campus links on the right-hand column on the academic magazine or journal most relevant to the subject of the paper such as Psychnet for APA articles on solutions for stress among working college students.
Both the usernames and passwords used to access the Schoolcraft library’s databases are subject to change each semester. All updates can be accessed through Blackboard by clicking the ‘Organizations’ tab by logging into bb.schoolcraft.edu. Users can also access this info by contacting the library at [email protected]
Students can also sort their research ideas through LibGuides.
Students may search by subject or their article’s doi.org identification number. They can also use LibGuides to gain access to free websites related to their research, academic databases at other colleges and more.
