Purdue University Northwest erupted for four third-period goals to power past MD2 Schoolcraft College, 7–4, on Friday Oct. 24, 2025 at Farmington Hills Ice Arena.
Schoolcraft jumped out to an early 2–0 lead in the opening frame with goals from Alex Kozar (2) and Owen McGowan (7), but Purdue Northwest cut the deficit in half late in the period when Lucas Whitehead (1) buried a feed from O’Neill and Ott at 19:49.
The Ocelots extended their lead to 3–1 early in the second on McGowan’s second of the game (8) during a power play at 4:11. Purdue Northwest responded quickly, however, as Alex Moon (4) and Collin Kozijn (4) each lit the lamp before the intermission to send the teams to the locker room tied 3–3.
Schoolcraft briefly regained the lead in the third when Landon West (2) scored at 3:38, but the Pride took over from there. Gabriel Santa Maria (3) tied it at 10:39, and Sean Curtin (2) gave PNW its first lead of the night with under two minutes remaining. Empty-net tallies by JT Verdino (1) and Blake Witkowski (4) sealed the 7–4 victory.
Flynn O’Neill paced the Pride offense with three assists, while Whitehead, Moon, and Cheney each notched multi-point nights. Goaltender John Hughes stopped 39 of 43 shots to earn the win (4-2-0).
Schoolcraft’s Nolan Brown turned aside 34 of 39 shots in the loss.
