Womens Basketball drops tournament opener

The Schoolcraft Womens Basketball Team lost their opening round matchup to Guliford Tech (NC) Community College 76-64 on the afternoon of March 17 in Overland Park, KS.
The Ocelots entered the NJCAA National Tournament as the eleventh seed, and will now be sent to the losers bracket where they will play consolation games to fight for seventh or eighth place.
Freshman guard T’era Nesbitt scored 23 points and added six rebounds for Schoolcraft, who were plagued by poor shooting throughout the game. Freshman guard Ashley Bland had nine points and four rebounds while sophomore guard Chelsey Wesley had seven points and three rebounds.
The Titans were led by sophomore forward Nyla Allen with 14 points and nine rebounds. Freshman guard Letricia Smith had 13 points and three rebounds for Guliford Tech, while freshman guard JaLisa David had 15 points to be the highest Titan scorer.
Schoolcraft plays again today, March 18, against Southeast (NE) CC at 4:00 p.m. EST.
