MOD Pizza franchise comes to Michigan

It all started with an idea. In 2008, a couple from Seattle wanted to create a unique food spot inspired by their love for pizza and simple pleasures, accompanied by their motivation to feed four hungry boys. With that came MOD Pizza.
Their concept upon opening was for customers to get what they wanted, with a “no catch” offer, for as low as the company could set the prices while paying their employees as much as possible and still be in business. The concept that this company was founded on, is genuinely mindful intentions.
MOD Pizza offers a variety of options to choose from. Menu options include, build your own salad and pizzas, specialty pizzas and salads as well as garlic and cinnamon bread strips. From the specialty menu, they have a list of top 10 pizzas which allows guests a great place to start if one does not want to build their own pizza and choose toppings.
Customers also get the option to top off their pizza with additional sauces or simply choose one as the base including MOD red sauce, MOD white sauce, pesto, BBQ sauce and garlic rub. MOD offers an assortment of beverages such as draught beer, wine, bottled beer, milkshakes, soft drinks and house-made ice tea and lemonade.
Unlike traditional pizza establishments in which patrons have to pay for extra toppings, MOD Pizza’s prices stay the same no matter how many toppings you select. The price only varies on the size of the pizza in which they offer three sizes. The mini MOD (6”) retails for $4.87, the MOD (11”) for $7.87 and a mega MOD (double 11” crusts) for $10.87.
Their pizzas are hand tossed, organic and are made with wheat based flour that has no additives or preservatives. This dough alone contributes to making this place stand out from its competitors. This is the perfect place for any pizza lover that is conscious of what they are eating. MOD Pizza does offer a gluten free crust, however, they do not recommend it to those that have celiac or have gluten allergies as it could be exposed to gluten at some point.
MOD manages to make fresh pizzas in less than three minutes because the stoves used are gas fired and are heated to 800 degrees.
In addition to its walk-in service, MOD also gives customers the option to order online. There is no delivery, but patrons can get take-out or choose to dine in.
Michigan welcomed its first MOD location to Livonia at 13229 Middlebelt Rd. on June 22. However, Michigan is not the only state to welcome this franchise. MOD is opening locations, all across the country. This corporation is just beginning to expand; referred to as “MODness.”
There will be two additional locations opening up in Michigan, one in Rochester at 3058 S Rochester Rd and another across the street from the Schoolcraft’s main campus in Northville inside the Northville Park Place at 18821 Traditions Dr. Northville.
The Northville location will be opening in mid-August on the 12 and the Rochester location follows soon after, in September.
Amber C., a friendly employee of the MOD Pizza Livonia location, shared, “I would recommend working here, if you’re looking for a job. It’s really fun.”
This is a great place to take the kids as a family or just meet up with some friends. It is an upbeat and energetic atmosphere complimented by amazing food.
