Spiritual beliefs aid in forming personal identities

Finding oneself can take a lifetime to accomplish. One of the biggest influences one has is religion.

Following a religion at a young age allows one to understand the spiritual side of life. If one is fortunate, their parents have established a religion in which they follow. Forming yourself around morals that are based off of religion will guide you through life.

If one is exposed to religion at a young age, morals are established and presented to them, and it helps them find meaning and a personal identity earlier.

As a human, we all are given a life and freewill to define ourselves and what we stand for. However, parents that expose their children to religion need to accept that once they are old enough to understand the ideologies, the child should have the choice of what religion they wish to be or not to be a part of. A parent should not forbid them from choosing another spiritual following. Rather, they should be accepting and support their child’s decision. Being exposed to a religion growing up does not mean that one has to stick to this religion or belief system for the rest of their life.

Having the power to choose a religion or what one believes in will help define who they are. It will assist to pave the path to find who they are, which is the meaning to life.

No one should tell or influence one person to believe that a single way of living is the only and right way. All religions have something in common, and that is that its followers believe in a higher power. There is no wrong religion or one specific belief that is right.

The absence of spiritual beliefs will cause one to take more tine to come to a realization of who they are and what they stand for. If one is lucky, they will spend their life defining who they are and achieve great things; others are not that lucky.

As Americans, we are given the freedom of religion. This law is a privilege and needs to be practiced, not suppressed. A parent should not prohibit their child from exploring and finding what they believe in after they have exposed them to a religion to establish a spiritual upbringing.

Having a spiritual belief is so important and will guide a person closer to finding who they are.
