Warm-up for a good cause

As winter is quickly approaching, now is a great time for a warm bowl of chili. Schoolcraft College is hosting the annual Chili Bowl Luncheon in the Lower Waterman, VisTaTech Center on Nov. 15 from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. All proceeds from the Luncheon will be given to support the Radcliff Food Pantry. The Black Student Union are co-sponsoring the Chili Bowl Luncheon. English Professor Helen Ditouras will be the lead professor in this event.

“The goal of the Chili Bowl Luncehon is to spread awareness and funding towards the Radcliff Food Pantry just as how the Empty Bowl Luncheon helps raise funds for our Schoolcraft College Food Pantry,” said Ditouras. The chili will be served by both students and faculty. Ditouras’s own ENG 102 class will also take part in cooking the chili and helping serve the chili as well as faculty.

Food service is also pitching in their support by providing the bowls and spoons. Each bowl will cost $3 and will come with crackers provided by the Student Activities Office and bread given by the culinary department.
