Stolen Backpack
On the afternoon of Jan. 25, a student set their drawstring backpack down near the gaming area of the Student Activities Center. That student had just received the backpack from a U.S. Army stand at the Winter School Daze and placed their house and car keys inside the backpack.

The backpack was noticed to be missing at 4:30 p.m. The parking lot was checked and their car was still there, meaning that their car was not stolen from campus.

Theft at Sc Bookstore
Two suspects, a woman and a man, entered the bookstore in broad daylight Jan. 22. The woman entered the bookstore at approximately 2:10 p.m.

She was seen grabbing some books from the biology section then placing them in the math section and then she talked to someone on her phone before she grabbed those books and put them in her backpack. She left the bookstore without paying the value of $868.50.

At approximately 2:29 p.m., a man was seen in the math section where the woman was just at with his backpack wide-open on the floor. He was also communicating on his cellphone before putting three books in a bag.

When an employee checked to see if he needed any assistance, he got scared and quickly wanted to be directed toward the psychology section. Moments later, the suspect left the bookstore without paying for the books.

At approximately 2:35 p.m., video surveillance caught a glimpse of both suspects in the store and entering and exiting the parking lot in an older, gray Saturn model with damage to the left front side.

An estimate of six books were stolen which were valued at $1,600. The suspects were also seen in the bookstore at approximately 1:15 p.m. to scope out the place. It is unknown if the suspects stole anything prior to the incident.

In case of emergency, contact the campus police authority at 734-462-4424.
