Theatre Department to host open auditions for “Rabbit Hole” Sept. 10 and 11

The first theatre production of the 2019/20 school year will be “Rabbit Hole” by David Lindsay-Abaire, directed by Paul Beer. Audition will take place Sept. 10 and 11 and 7 p.m. in room LA (Liberal Arts) 500. Expect to stay for at least two hours.
“I’m really excited to direct this play and I’m hoping for a great turn out at auditions,” states Beer.
Auditions are open to the entire Schoolcraft community. This includes students, faculty, staff and community members. There is no experience required to audition and students are not required to be a liberal art major. All audition requirements will be provided prior to each audition.
“Rabbit Hole” is a drama which won the Pulitzer Prize in 2007. It is the story of a family grieving the loss of a four-year-old child, who was lost in an auto accident. Each of the family members are grieving in their own way, which can be hard and causes them to push away from one another. However, towards the end they all find a way to cope together.
“Rabbit Hole” is a five-character play. The character’s include Becca (mother of the four-year-old), Howie (father and Becca’s husband), Izzy (Becca’s sister), Nat (Becca and Izzy’s mother) and Jason (Becca and Howie’s neighbor) and is also the person who struck their son.
