After being postponed due to the pandemic in March, the STEAMz summit is ready to go June 11 and 12 in a virtual format. From 1:00 to 4 p.m. on both days, the virtual event will have 16 presentations led by Schoolcraft student leaders with topics ranging the arts, mental health, humanities, the sciences and much more.

Many people recognize the acronym STEM, but how many know what STEAMz stands for?
STEAMz incorporates the original science, technology, engineering and mathematics from the STEM acronym. In addition, it also has included arts and generation Z. Generation Z is the age group that makes up the majority of college-age students in America currently, while art is often recognized as a creative outlet. This conference intends to bridge the gap between the arts, humanities and sciences. Intertwining the inherent creativity found in the arts, social connections of the humanities and the critical thinking involved in the sciences to produce well-rounded future leaders.
Both days are packed with interesting topics from a wide range of student speakers. The deadline to register has been extended from June 5 to Tuesday, June 9. Registration is free to everyone and required if you would like to attend. You can sign up to attend one or both days.
