“JCPenney actually contacted us and told us about the suit up program. It is their partnership between colleges and their retail stores to provide an additional discount to students, faculty, staff, alumni, for what would be considered business casual or business attire and accessories,s.” said Donovan.
This extremely beneficial event is hosted twice a year, once in the fall and once in the spring. Around the time of each event, information is provided about its location online or in store. A merchandise list provided by JCPenney will also be supplied, helping participants map out which items are included in the discount and which items are not. This list will include approved professional clothing, shoes, accessories like jewelry and belts, briefcases, luggage and more.
The “Suit Up” event is eminently encouraged for students and all affiliates of Schoolcraft to explore, as professional attire is an indispensable style to keep in your wardrobe that will elevate your professional experiences.
“It’s a good idea to be dressed professionally and present yourself professionally. Even if that job environment is more of a casual environment, that initial meeting needs to look professional,”said Donovan.
