Well Potter fans, the time has come to say goodbye. “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part Two” brings the series to a soul-stirring close. Keep a tissue handy, because this film is nothing short of emotional.
Wisely directed by David Yates and released on July 15, 2011, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part Two” picks up precisely where “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part One” left off. Actor Daniel Radcliffe resumes his role as Harry Potter, as the final showdown with the Dark Lord implodes.
The inspiring concluding film begins with Potter and friends mourning the loss of the beloved character Dobby. Questions are answered and new ones are posed, as the trio converse with those they saved from Malfoy Manor in the previous film. They infiltrate the Gringotts Bank to sneak into the vault of a close connection to the Dark Lord, where they steal the next Horcrux. Trouble ensues, as the goblin they trusted to get them in turns on them after completing their deal. After making a remarkable escape and receiving unexpected help from a new ally, the trio breach an imperiled Hogwarts.
With the school embroiled in chaos, actors Rupert Grint and Emma Watson reprise their roles as Ron and Hermione to team up and destroy a Horcrux. Simultaneously, Potter finds and destroys another Horcrux, just before a blazing battle ensues with Draco Malfoy. Potter further experiences another vision, learning the identity of the final Horcrux that brings the feud to a close. Tragically, many more lives are lost in the war before it comes to a gut-wrenching end.
Amid all the chaos, this mystical motion picture presents many touching moments. Fans will admire Potter’s burial of Dobby without magic and watch him reconnect with loved ones who passed before the last battle. Many of these moments clarify unanswered questions, subplots and vital character insights.
The acting by the cast is very natural, as the seriousness of the film’s tone is seen expertly in each character. Actress Julie Walters, specifically, does an impeccable job in her character of Mrs. Weasley. Her acting brings forth her character’s caring maternal nature, obvious cautiousness and fierce protection that rivals any other in the film. Fans may be both delighted and surprised to see her using a curse on actress Helena Bonham Carter as Bellatrix Lestrange. Fans will also love seeing actress Dame Maggie Smith as Professor Minerva McGonagall, specifically while performing the Hogwarts protection spell. Smith’s acting was phenomenal, as you can see and hear her beam with pure joy and excitement when using it. Both scenes additionally present equally remarkable cinematography, with smooth camera motion and special effects that captivate viewers.
Bringing a decade long series to a powerful conclusion, this film wraps up all the loose ends perfectly with stunning visuals and spirited acting. Get ready to experience the highly anticipated ending of the alluring Harry Potter series, in “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part Two.”
