Celebrate your differences

Cultural Coffee Connection to be conducted via Blackboard Collaborate

Ben Bolstrum, Campus Life Editor

If you are looking for a way to reconnect with your Schoolcraft community consider participating this Wednesday, May 27, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the ‘Cultural Coffee Connection’ through Blackboard Collaborate Ultra.
Hosted by Learning Support Services, the goal of this event is to raise cultural awareness in a group setting where students, staff, faculty and community members can discuss topics based around cultural diversity and awareness.
What better way to do this with each other than with a coffee, drink or snack in hand?
An important aspect of staying in the loop is keeping up with current culture whether it be related to politics, travel or general education. There is always something new to learn, whether it be from past, present or future. This event serves as a great place to help become educated about cultures that are often ignored, misconstrued or overlooked.
Celebrate the cultures of the world in a group setting for the best experience and coverage. People of all backgrounds, creeds and religions are encouraged to attend.
This is a great opportunity to socialize in a time where seeing peers may be an unlikely or impossible scenario. With COVID-19 plaguing the nation, many people are left without an outlet to socialize.
Don’t miss the chance to connect with fellow Ocelots and learn about the cultures of the world. If you can’t make this one, two additional sessions are scheduled for June 17 and July 22.
