Dress for Success event helps students with free, professional clothing

Matthew Kern, Staff Writer

This Thursday, Oct. 7, Dress for Success comes to Schoolcraft’s campus. The Hinkle Student Resource Center has partnered with Dress for Success to, “Help our students obtain business attire for job interviews, job fairs, job training and workplace attire,” according to Rhonda Donovan, a specialist with the Hinkle Student Resource Center. “Dress for Success was very interested in working with us, and we are hoping this will be a partnership that will assist our students now and in the future.”

Dress for Success is an organization whose goal is to help both men and women by providing clothing and networks of support to develop the skills necessary to thrive in a professional environment and achieve economic independence.

To participate in this event, Donovan suggests students complete and submit the Dress for Success intake form (available in the Hinkle Student Resource Center – McDowell Student Center Room 175 or by emailing [email protected]) by Wednesday, Oct. 6. Walk-ins will also be welcome, however it’s best to apply beforehand to make any sizing or other personal requests.

Stylists from Dress for Success will work with students to pick out their style, and provide clothing and accessories at no cost to the student. Students who cannot attend the event on Oct. 7, or who have other questions about the program, can feel free to contact Dress for Success on their website to seek further assistance after the event.
