Improve record to 16-2 overall

The Schoolcraft women’s basketball improved to a 16-2 overall record after their dominant performance against Wayne County Community College, 86-56.

Makaiya Thomas first got Schoolcraft on the board with a pair of free throws and the Ocelots never looked back. Schoolcraft never trailed in the contest.

Four Ocelots were in double figures for the game. Samantha Smith had 11 points off of the bench, while,  Eve Parrish, Hunter Conway, and  Ruby Garner led the starters with 16, 18 and 12 respectively. It was a big night for Conway, as she wound up with 10 rebounds to go along with her 18 points, giving her, her first double-double of the season. 14 Ocelots saw minutes throughout the game, none more highlighted then Aniyah Gamble scoring her first basket of the season late in the fourth quarter. On the defensive end, it was Smith leading the way as she posted 5 more blocks on the night, bringing her average to 3.38 blocks per game.

Schoolcraft looks to improve to 17-2 when they travel to Oakland Community College to square off against the 17-6 Raiders on Saturday, February 18.
