Gather ‘round with some friends and join the Schoolcraft community for a tasty treat in the Lower Waterman Wing of the VisTaTech Center this Wednesday, Sept. 11, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This annual event, also known as “Make-it-Take-it” is hosted by the Student Activities Board (SAB) and will feature over 15 toppings to choose from to top off your free ice cream sundae.
“The goal of this event is to help students have a chance to socialize and get to know those around them. SAB strives to encourage these connections to foster a welcoming campus environment,” said Allison Lee, President of SAB.
Attendees will be served a scoop of ice cream in a bowl by Student Activities Board members and then proceed to walk down the line of toppings and build their ultimate sundae.
“In addition to the vanilla, chocolate chip, and fudge swirl ice cream being served, around 15 to 20 different types of toppings will be available to decorate sundaes. Live entertainment will also accompany the snacks,” said Director of Student Activities, Todd Stowell.
The entertainment this year will be Ypsilanti performer, Sam Corbin, playing a multitude of genres for listeners. The guitarist started playing at age 16 and joined a band during his high school years. From that point on, he knew he wanted to pursue music as a career and has performed all over the country, but often returns to his Michigan roots.
Don’t miss this opportunity to relax between classes with a tasty treat, enjoy some good music and meet new friends to kick off the new school year.
Be sure to take some time to celebrate the new semester and treat yourself — you deserve it!
