In a matchup of two competitive conference rivals, Schoolcraft College used a dominant second-half performance to take down Macomb Community College, 63-48, on Wednesday, February 5. The win extends Schoolcraft’s strong season, improving their record to 19-4 (7-1 conference) while Macomb falls to 12-10 (4-4 conference).
The game started as a back-and-forth battle, with both teams trading baskets in a high-energy first quarter that ended in an 18-18 tie. Schoolcraft’s defensive adjustments began to show in the second quarter, holding Macomb to just seven pointsas they took a narrow 27-25 halftime lead.
Coming out of the break, the Ocelots began to impose their will. A mix of aggressive defense and transition play helped them outscore Macomb 16-8 in the third quarter, stretching the lead to double digits. The Monarchs tried to mount a comeback, but Schoolcraft’s 26 points off turnovers and clutch shooting down the stretch sealed the game.
