For all the pain that the world has gracefully left upon each and everyone’s doorstep, sometimes stepping back to a simpler time, maybe even a non-existent time, is just the escape one could desire for. For those craving that escape from modern life the Michigan Renaissance Festival is the perfect way to spend a weekend through Oct. 3.

The Michigan Renaissance Festival runs weekends through October 3. Here is a list of the remaining themed weekends.

The Renaissance Festival is meant to celebrate a more glorified culture of the Renaissance time period. For over 42 years many artisans, actors, patrons, and cosplayers have been gathering in Holly Michigan on 15 acres of property in order to celebrate this special occasion. In fact, “The Great Michigan Renaissance Tradition features 18 Stages of Exciting Entertainment, full Contact Live Armored Jousting, 250 Artisans for Endless Shopping, 7 Theme Weekends, Over 50 FREE Family Friendly Activities and Food Fit for a King or Queen” according to their website.

Don’t wait too long however. Visitors have three more weekends to attend through Oct. 3. The remaining themed weekends

include: Sept. 18-19 Shamrock and Shenanigans, Sept. 25-26 Harvest Huzzah, Oct. 1 Festival Fridays and Oct. 2-3 Sweet Endings. The hours of operation are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. No matter rain or shine the festival will go on. Masks/vaccines are encouraged, but it is not mandated/required.

Tickets ordered at the gate of the festival for adults starts as low as $24.95 and for children under 18 they are $15.95 while those under 4 years of age enter for free. Ordering online tickets beforehand can also save upward of $3. Season passes are also available with extra amenities just for the festival going experience.

The Michigan Renaissance Festival is located only 45 mins from Schoolcraft College located at 12600 Dixie Hwy, in Holly, MI. Free Parking is also available.

This event only happens once a year and continues to be a delightful memory for so many people who attend, creating and sparking memories in this mythical and magical area that will last a lifetime.
