The Great Decorate | Fostering Hope for the Holidays

Over 250,000 children are placed in foster care each year in the U.S., and upwards of 26,500 age-out, with 1,700 in Michigan alone. The Great Decorate, a holiday tree decorating contest, raises awareness and funds for local foster teens aging-out of the foster care system; foster recipients will be selected through a collaboration with the Michigan Adoption Resource Exchange (M.A.R.E.). 

Visitors can view beautifully decorated trees in restaurants and retail locations in downtown Birmingham and vote for their favorite by donating online, and 100% of donations go directly to local foster teens to put toward their future when they turn 18.
