After dropping two tough conference matchups against Oakland CC (Jan. 21) and Henry Ford (Jan. 24), the Schoolcraft Men’s Basketball team looked to rebound their way back into the win column. Meeting expectations, the Ocelots secured two significant victories against their opponents and provisionally reclaimed a share of the conference lead, tied with Oakland, Henry Ford, and Macomb with a 5-2 record.

In a game without many complications, the Ocelots managed the first half well, leading 35-30 at the break. In the second half, they expanded the lead, finishing the period with a score of 39-24.
The standout player for the Ocelots was J’Vohn Walker, who recorded a double-double with 15 rebounds (9 of them offensive) and 13 points. Teammate, Tyler Robinson, also made a positive impact in the paint with 9 rebounds and 15 points, converting all three of his attempts from beyond the arc.

St. Clair Community College – 78
To wrap up the month of January, the Ocelots travelled to St. Clair to play the Skippers. Through another harmonious effort between defense and offense, the Ocelots broke the 100-point barrier, winning by a 25-point margin.
Once again this season, Tyler Robinson recorded a double-double with 18 points and 13 rebounds, with his strongest presence in the defensive paint, where he grabbed 7 boards.
Offensively, every Ocelot in the starting lineup made a major contribution to the scoreboard. All of them reached double digits, with the lowest score being 16 points and three players finishing with 18 points.
Upcoming Games
On Wednesday (02/04), the Ocelots travel to Macomb Community College with tipoff set for 7:30 p.m. In their first meeting, the Ocelots secured a 76-64 victory.
Then, on Saturday (02/07), the Ocelots return home to face Mott Community College at 3:00 p.m. In the first half of the season, the Ocelots also won that matchup, 81-69.
