The Schoolcraft Ocelots used strong pitching and steady offense to defeat St. Clair County Community College 4–0 on Thursday, April 2.
Starter Lucas Clune led the way for Schoolcraft, tossing 5.2 shutout innings while striking out eight and allowing just two hits. Kasey Settles finished the game in relief to secure the combined three-hit shutout.
Schoolcraft broke through in the second inning with two runs, highlighted by an RBI from Elijah Schroeder and a run-scoring play by Tashawn Eatmon. The Ocelots added another in the third on an RBI from Braylon Schroeder, before Kevin Cruz delivered an RBI triple in the fifth to make it 4–0.
Cruz finished 2-for-3, while Jace Walerski and Shane Carnes each added two hits as Schoolcraft collected 11 hits overall.
St. Clair County managed just three hits—from Will Wiegand, Kegan Finn, and Trey Taylor—and struck out eight times against the Ocelots’ pitching staff.
Lucas Clune (1–0) earned the win, while Aidan Korolden (0–1) took the loss after allowing four runs across five innings.

In game two of the doubleheader the Schoolcraft Ocelots used a huge seven-run third inning to pull away and defeat St. Clair County Community College, 8–4, at The Corner Ballpark.
St. Clair actually struck first when Mason Golabek launched a solo home run in the first inning, one of two homers he hit on the night. Golabek finished 3-for-4 with two home runs and two RBIs, leading a Skippers offense that produced 16 hits.
Schoolcraft answered with a run in the bottom of the first before breaking the game open in the third inning, scoring seven runs on six hits. Key hits in the rally included RBIs from Tashawn Eatmon, Kevin Cruz, Tony Mendez, Elijah Schroeder, Noah McCann, and Devin Elder, turning a close game into an 8–2 Ocelots lead.
Despite trailing, St. Clair continued to put runners on base. Cooper Letson and Will Wiegand each had three hits, and RBIs from Wiegand and Trey Taylor helped the Skippers chip away late.
On the mound, Alex Stepaniak earned the win in relief for Schoolcraft, throwing 3.2 innings while allowing one run and striking out four. Owen Shimel finished the game to secure the victory.
St. Clair starter Mason Golabek took the loss after allowing eight runs in 2.2 innings, though Adam Laski settled things down out of the bullpen with 3.1 scoreless innings and three strikeouts.
Schoolcraft collected 10 hits, led by Tony Mendez’s three-hit performance, while Cruz and Elder each added two hits in the win.
